Sailor Moon - Blackest Night 1

"The Blackest Night falls from the skies,
The darkness grows as all light dies,
We crave your hearts and your demise,
By my black hand--The dead shall rise!"


This was something I have been toying with for a while. I've been a newcomer to DC Comics latest universe event, the Blackest Night and I have been literally consumed by it. As I've researched the story, I began to do what I always do, drink coffee and start developing some half-cocked story ideas Yes, I've done a bad thing; I've brought the Blackest Night to Sailor Moon.

I can see a hundred users at their computer desks face-palming right now - my bad. But the story's basis does provide an opening where two worlds can merge. If we've learned anything about DC - mashing a hundred earths together is just par for the course any way, so I'm going for it.

The first question I'll like get and I'll just shoot it down right now will be:

Can a Black Lantern ring actually subvert Sailor Moon?.

Hell yes it can. The rings don't only reanimate the dead - those who have been resurrected (seen by Nekron as escaping death) are susceptible to the ring's corrupting influence. Wonder Woman, Barry Allen (Flash) and Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) all become targets in the story for the tainted rings of death.

Usagi has come back from the dead more than once. Slain when the Moon Kingdom fell and sent into the future, brought back when Saturn took down Pharoh90...after the battle with Beryl, etc. She's come back to life more than any other character in the canon story.

Lastly the rings afflict those who would have the greatest affect on the living. A city who sees their champion fall would be dumbstruck. A team without a leader would falter against battling one of their own. A lover now bereft of his other half is left with agony in his heart. Usagi as Black Lantern Sailor Moon? Totally gonna happen.

As of now, not sure where I wanna go with this - like I said it's been a story just burning a hole in my brain. We gotta, you know, please that damn muse or she'll abscond with my Lucky Mug. I'll do more later if I can.
